About Our Church

 Our Staff

Andrew
Senior Minister

Hi, my name is Andrew Pratt. It has been my great honor to minister alongside the Viroqua Church of Christ since the summer of 2017.  Along with my beautiful family including my wife, Paula of over 20 years, and our 8 children-Arianna, Ethan, Isaac, Matthew, Levi, Olivia, Samuel, and Addy we love to stay active in serving our church and community in a variety of ways. We have a special interest in music and you can often find us serving in the choir, praise team, and tech booth at church as well as various places within the community.  We love to cheer each other on in a variety of sports, especially soccer and are actively involved in the youth program, playing, coaching, and reffing. I have a passion for knowing the scriptures and helping others to experience the living word of God in a transformative way. I would love to connect with you and your family.

Ben
Family Life Minister

Hi, my name is Ben Johnson. I have been on staff at Viroqua Church of Christ since March of 2022 as the Family Life Minister. I have been married to my wife, Nicole since 2008, and we have 5 children: Andrew, Leah, Noah, Samuel, and Charlotte. Our family likes to travel and go camping. I coach soccer and basketball, and in my free time, I like to disc golf. I also like to cheer on the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks!

Kristin
Administrative

Hi, my name is Kristin Hillman. It is my joy to step out of retirement to serve the church as administrative assistant for a season. My husband, Patrick, and I are blessed with four children and six grandchildren. We also have three pets who have no idea that they are, in fact, not human. In my spare time, you will find me crocheting or gardening. I have received the Lord’s peace every day for over 50 years. John 14:27

Mission, Beliefs & Values

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of this church, as revealed in the New Testament, shall be to win people to faith in Jesus Christ, commit them actively to the church, help them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ that increasingly they may know and do His will, and to work for the unity of all Christians and with them engage in the common task of building up the Kingdom of God.

OUR MISSION

To be disciples who make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our Core Beliefs

  • We believe there is one and only one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) Matthew 6:1, 4, 8, 9; James 1:17; John 1:1; John 14:9; Genesis 1:2; John 4:24; John 14:16-25; 2 Peter 1:21). We believe that God the Father Almighty is the Creator of all things visible and invisible (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3).

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of the Living God, who died for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day according to Scripture (1 Corinthians 15: 1-8; John 3:16). We believe in Jesus Christ, our one and only Savior, God’s one and only Son (John 1:14; 1 John 4:9; John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:18); Who was born, Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary (Matthew 21:11; John 19:19; John 1:14; Romans 5:15-17; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 1:1; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-28); Who suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate (Luke 23:44-24:8; John 20:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8); Who ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father (Luke 22:69; Acts 1:1-9; Colossians 3:1); And Who will return to Earth to judge both the living and the dead (Matthew 24:36-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; Acts 10:39-42; 1 Peter 4:5).

  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is an active and operative part of the triune God (John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27); And Who indwells every Christian (1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14).

  • We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God - a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105). We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word, Scripture. We believe God inspired the Scriptures and they consequently are without error (Mark 12:36; John 14:26; John 16:12-15; Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21). We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice (Isaiah 30:8; Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12).

  • We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but every person has worth as a creation of God (Romans 3:23). We believe that those accepting Christ should repent of their sin, confess their faith, and be baptized (immersed) into Him, and in doing this will receive forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life. We believe that the Bible teaches that God created human beings and they willfully sinned against God and are consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23). We believe that the Bible teaches that the forgiveness of sins and salvation are achieved only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7). We believe that the Bible teaches that we receive God’s grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and being immersed into Christ, but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation (Romans 5:1-2; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:11; 1 John 4:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21).

  • We believe that the Church is the body of Christ on Earth and exists to evangelize the lost and edify the saved, empowered by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:1-16). We believe in the Church, which is the body of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost and consisting of all Christians everywhere (Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47).

  • We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return to Earth and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
